Boycott of Inquiry a political stunt: PM

Boycott of Inquiry a political stunt: PM

Friday, February 18th, 2011 21:33:00
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today described as a political stunt the move to boycott the hearing of the Commission of Inquiry into the death of Selangor political aide Teoh Beng Hock.
He said it was a ploy by the opposition to use the matter as an issue in the next general election.
The move was aimed at delaying the work of the commission and to make it seem like the government was not doing anything to find out the cause of death of Teoh, he said.
"It has been politicised. They want to find ways to delay the case. The aim is to make the case an issue in the next general election.
"It was for this reason that the opposition advised the family of Teoh (to withdraw from the inquiry)," he told reporters after opening a convention of religious teachers at the Putra World Trade Centre, here.
Yesterday, the Selangor government withdrew from the hearing, with its counsel Malik Imtiaz Sarwar saying the action by the commission to continue proceedings in the face of pending proceedings at the Shah Alam High Court was of concern and that there were inconsistencies by the attorney-general in having his staff serve as conducting officers while also trying to revise the verdict of the completed inquest into Teoh's death.

Lawyers stood ......watching brief

So...You think...this is a kangaroo CI!!!!!!!

At time most of us miss the point here. "Justice seen to be done", in actual fact is just creation of illusion or something to satisfy the general consensus. Furthermore, justice and law are not the same subject. Real problem is the law, and the government decision to change, loophole or override it, especially in cases like the above. The public are frustrated because they feel that freedom and democracy are the real casualties, and being voters, they want it to change. Is it for better or for worse?
If so the question is very simple, "what are correct legal procedures of the suspicious deaths of TBH"
After much uproar from the public, CI was then established and a royal one. Anyhow, sad to say, withdrawing from the hearing is such a nihilism - complete denial of all established authority and institutions.
Not only the family, most Malaysian and so with the government were  interested to know  and  learn the truth about TBH's death. We do care and understand the fig TBH's  family been through. However, I am not too sure whether the politician sincerely care about the CI. Knowing most politician cared only for themselves!
Politicians don't care about the truth. Spin isn’t a just a different version of the truth, as one politician once said, it is political lying. Spin is used by politicians to try and fool the public. Especially in this country, not sometime but most of the time.
PM Najib said that;"We set up the commission at the request of the family (of Teoh) and for the purpose of establishing the truth. There must be a closure to the case," he said.
"Closure to the case" I think it's a prerogative of being a PM, so as to say "to disarm the strong and arm the weak would be to change the social order which is his job to preserve. Justice is the means by which established injustices are sanctioned or maybe the other way round. Lawyers with their  legal language is the most confusing rhetoric. I don't know...
Yes!!! furthermore  it's an open judgement.....
